2022.01.16 06:49 TheBeardedSportscast Speech and Mistakes

Hi everyone! I’ve been thinking about this personally and am curious to see what others prefer.
Would you prefer a podcast that is spoken;
Clearly with little to no mistakes/stumbles, creating almost a ‘smooth flow’
More free flow with some mistakes and stumbles, creating more of an ‘authentic’ feel
And why?

2022.01.16 06:49 888xd Is the algorithm less likely to put you on fyp if you change ur video design often?

I always do the same content (slowed songs) but I often changed the video design and put a lot of videos out to see which would do well, but the views have declined the more I did that.
Now I am afraid that TikTok won't promote me because they see how often I change my design and how 'indecisive' I am and that ask myself if TikTok is less likely to promote you if you change your content often? I notice that the popular accounts always have the same theme that they sticked through with since the very first video.

2022.01.16 06:49 tyrantxrz Musings on the Meta 4

Musings on the Meta 4:
Hello again everyone! I apologize for not posting the new weekly post for a few weeks. I've been busy at work and with some personal goals that I set this year so I wasn't able to get this up when I wanted to. This week I'm going to cover the following topics:
- Buffs and Nerfs, what does it take to shift the meta: - Opinions on the Season - Where things are at now? What we should carry to next season. - Healer 2pc/4pc review for 9.2
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Buffs and Nerfs: Shifting the Meta
I wanted to write this because of a recent development in the meta, that being the surge of necrolord frost mages, kyrian boomy and of course necrolord DH. I'm not going to delve particularly deep into why these classes have come into prominence this patch - they all received damage buffs or (in the case of kyrian boomy) ended synergizing well with a class that brought it's strength to the forefront.
There's a lot of things that honestly can bring a class that's either struggling or non-existent back into prominence at both low and high levels of play. I'll speak about how certain nerfs and buffs have reshaped the entire metagame since WoD and where better to start than with enhancement shaman. I've discussed in previous posts about how enhance has evolved since BFA and this was it - this was the patch that made turbo a T1 comp in terms of offensive pressure. What was done? A 20% damage buff to stormstrike and lava lash. Sometimes the blizzard buff gods are beneficial indeed. What this meant was that the relatively simple - but effective comp was given enough damage to put pressure on the FLS/RMD damp lords and with that damage it effectively catapulted Joefernandes and Boetar to their blizzcon championship. (All credit to them off course, they really did play like champs).
So this is all obvious right? A class that has solid utility gets more damage and suddenly it's a contender! Case closed. See that's not exactly always the case for a class. Sometimes, for a class to come back into prominence something complementary to that spec has to receive some sort of buff or change. A good example of this is actually from this expac - the recent surge of necro dh has been in part due to a buff to a conduit but Kyrian boomy in particular has really benefitted and is (in my mind) borderline A+/S tier in the meta. Maybe not as good as ret/warr, jungle or rogue mage, but certainly a contender with warspriest.
There have been numerous other examples of this in prior expansions as well. In the early TOS patch during legion Feral druids in legion received a massive buff to brutal slash (to the point where it was 2 shotting people). While it was toned down significantly after a week or two the change brought MM hunters back into vogue (despite already being strong) because their complement was made a true contender.
I could wax on and off about how Legion was the forefront of fine tuning and it would take an age to go through every buff and nerf that had significance in the meta. But I want to draw attention to one change that I think that set the tone for how blizzard handles their nerf and and buff process. Blizzard is notorious for the sledgehammer approach when it comes to nerfs (see: prot paladin) and it's very rare that they take the scalpel to truly address what makes certain specs simply TOO good. But when they do use the scalpel, the results are immediate and actually very beneficial to the diversity of the meta. This was a change made at the end of Legion S6 where Rising Sun Kick Damage from windwalker monks had it's damage reduced by 10% and blackout kick had it's damage raised by 10% while serenity was changed from a 25% damage buff to a 17% damage buff.
You see, windwalker was the king of CD based single target burst in legion and with serenity builds had the potential to one shot every other melee in the game. I'm talking rising sun kicks that hit for 1.7+ million on 3 million health pools. Follow that up with a strike of the windlord and it was easily 2.5+ mill damage in 3 globals (due to serenity being on the GCD). Okay - what makes this change so significant? Because with walking death effectively dethroned as the king of melee EVERY comp that had been suppressed by TWD setups was given the chance to shine. When there's more specs in the queue, there's more vibrancy and depth to the game.
I'm not going to preach about how legion S7 was the best season in WoW history - there's a ton of others out there for debate and contention for that tile. But I will say that nerfing the one class or comp that holds the rest back can have a great impact. And the best part is that TWD wasn't a dead comp in Legion S7, it was still an A+/S tier comp.
As an opinion I'll throw out there, I think what blizzard should not look to nerf classes to the ground. People get (rightly) upset when their specs are nerfed or are unplayable. But when they are effectively reworked and have their damage profile redistributed in a way that's not front loaded or overbearing things do get interesting.
So has blizzard followed this theme? You know, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. I guess it depends on what the PvP intern thinks :X
Opinions on the Season: What's worked, what hasn't and what needs to be addressed for next season.
You know, this has been a very long and interesting season. I don't think it's been particularly bad as some of the top players seem to cry out. The truth is, nearly every spec in the game has a A/A+ tier comp to play. But diversity doesn't necessarily equate to a fun gameplay experience nor does it speak to the how balanced the season is.
The biggest change in my mind that impacted this season was the nerf to armor that essentially made WW THE spec to beat until hotfixes toned down their burst. It also took some specs that ironically received armor buffs out of the meta for some time in 3s (namely boomy/destro). Other specs that were already strong also benefitted heavily from the armor change, namely BM hunter, arms warrior and to a lesser extent rogues. But why didn't fury warrior come into prominence :^) ?
In all seriousness, this is perhaps one of the most scripted seasons in WoW PvP. What I mean is that nearly every game comes down to equitably trading cds until one team gains an advantage through the trades or... lucky crits/procs. And that's what I think makes people really dislike the pace of this season. It's simply just nerve wracking. You could have played the perfect trade to a point but because that warrior with 10% crit rolled well, or because that bm hunter got enough kill shot procs, or because that night fae paladin's blessing let the hunter do 90k damage in a global... yeah it just feels like you're waiting for someone to get lucky and end it all. Either that or you all trade so well that it goes to dampening and whoever reads the situation better or plays safe ends up winning a 10 minute match.
Some might say that's a good way for the game to play out. But hear me out - nobody but wealthyman, chanimal and kubzy like dampening games and nobody likes losing to rng and honestly it diminishes the depth of the interactions in this season.
So what am I saying? This season had the potential to be really great. But with some poorly thought out decisions that cascaded into PvP (armor nerf) and relatively tame balance patches the game just falls slightly short of the mark.
How do we fix this? I personally think that the best way to change the season is to reduce the amount of stackable cds right now. For instance, necro ret/warrior teams stack banner with wings and seraphim - a combination that multiplicatively gives the ret upwards of 65% increased damage on top of 175% from the crit.
Between their goes they do a significant chunk of damage sure, but this is where defensives get forced or the ret warrior just topples their opponent. This isn't a perfect solution as obviously there are healers that can straight up heal through this type of damage now. Unfortunately, this is why un-telegraphed damage HAS to exist in order to break the monotone.
Bottom line? It's a complex and without a fundamental rework of how rng impacts us in arena it's not going to get any better or easier. Feel free to leave your thoughts below on what you think can be done to make next season build on what went right this season and fix the things that went awry.
9.2 Healer 2pc/4pc Tier Set review:
So I started with Melee DPS last time so I figured I would go to healers in this post. I'll finish with RDPS last as I feel like it's a field where I'm a little less in tune with.
Please note - this is not a ranking of the healers in 9.2, we're far away from being able to make those kinds of judgments. What this is meant to be is a review of how these set bonuses affect and impact the playstyle of these healers in PvP.
S Tier:
- Discipline Priest - Holy Paladin - Restoration Druid
A Tier: - Rsham - Holy Priest
B Tier: - MW Monk
2-Set - From Dusk - Casting Power Word: Shield or Shadow Mend has a 15% chance to make your next cast of Shadow Mend have no cost or cast time.
4-Set - Til Dawn - Power of the Dark Side increases the effectiveness of Penance by an additional 45% and is triggered when Power Word: Radiance is cast.
Okay, right off the get go this is insane. Discipline having a proc based heal that is essentially their strongest single target heal already and it being free? It might not have the best proc rate, but the 4p addresses that by simply making the fluidity of the spec have some nuance. That 4pc is going to be amazing in rbgs as well and while I don't see most rmp 3s swapping back to disc this is just free healing, damage and fluidity for jungle. Easily the best and most interesting 2pc/4pc in my book.
Holy Paladin:
2-Set - Dawn Will Come - Casting Word of Glory causes your next Light of Dawn to heal for 50% more and cast twice. Cannot occur more often than once per 30 sec.
4-Set - Dawn Will Come - Each target hit by Light of Dawn has a 100% chance to reduce the remaining cooldown of Avenging Wrath by 2 sec.
So this is another fluidity 2pc/4pc. The 2pc gives holy some relief when it comes to healing multiple targets which can bear down on them significantly. Light of the dawn isn't the strongest heal though so the 4pc really gives it some life. It's not quite BFA s4 corruptions, but it will definitely give hpals some more throughput. In RBGs this light of the dawn proc just might be broken. Think about it, 10 people getting hit twice by a word of glory, that's 20*2 or FORTY seconds off wings every 30 seconds. Man, that's insane isn't it?
Restoration Druid:
2-Set - Renewing Bloom - Swiftmend heals an additional (Spell power * 21 / 100) for each periodic healing effect on the target.
4-Set - Ephemeral Incarnation - Swiftmend heals 4 nearby allies for 25% of its healing done.
While at first glance this doesn't seem particularly interesting, it is a very strong set bonus for a class that is essentially a health management spec. The 2pc is a throughput increase, nothing too special. But the 4pc is very solid for a spec that sometimes struggles when targets are frequently swapped. In tangent - these two bonuses provide a very solid tool for rdruids to maintain healing on their team without having to commit extra mana. Honestly - it's basically going to be a LOH for the entire team. Very strong and you'll definitely think twice about those cenarion wards for sure now...
2-Set - Heal the Soul - Your critical healing increases the critical chance of your next Chain Heal by 2%, stacking up to 50 times.
4-Set - Heal the Soul - Your Chain Heal critical hits reduce the remaining cooldown of one of your totems by 2 sec. Your Healing Stream Totem, Healing Tide Totem, Mana Tide Totem, and Spirit Link Totem now also cast Chain Heal when you drop them.
I was initially hesitant to put this in even the A tier, but I put some time into looking into this. Rshams typically don't run a ton of crit in PvP right now - it's pretty much vers/mastery for the most part. BUT with the changes to how vers will work it might lowkey become feasible to pick up some crit. Crit vers is already preferred in M+ scenarios. It's really the 4 pc that arrests my attention - having each of the major throughput and defensive totems auto cast a chain heal when dropped is a serious amount of healing throughput for the entire team and if it works with tidebringer? That's an AOE dispell for the entire team off a healing stream totem, pretty damn awesome.
JK dispelled ua now u ded xD
Holy Priest:
2-Set - Knowledge - Your Holy Words begin Divine Conversation, increasing the cooldown reduction of your next Holy-Word-affecting spell by 15 sec.
4-Set - Conversation - Divine Conversation increases the effectiveness of your next Holy-Word-affecting spell by 35%.
Lul aren't these the conduits?
Levity aside, I think these bonuses are pretty strong. There's good synergy in the way they interact and more throughput for holy's instant casts is nice. I just think that this is rather... boring, to say the least.
2-Set - Grandiose Font - Essence Font's residual healing effect is increased by 5% and lasts an additional 2 sec.
4-Set - Tea of the Grand Upwelling - Drinking Thunder Focus Tea summons a Progenitor Rune of Healing, increasing all healing dealt while inside its bounds by 123.
Yeah idk, these are really not good in PvP. When did blizzard decide that the design for mistweaver should be a stationary healer instead of fistweaving? Or better yet, the days of mistwalk or running while casting? Why do I need to stand in a circle to heal ;,,;.
Honestly, this isn't bad for throughput but it's just a godawful slap in the face for PvP MWs because it simply contrasts with the playstyle in PvP and offers a throughput gain in a non-ideal way.
Aaaaand that's a wrap! Leave your thoughts or suggestions in the comments below. If anyone has topics they'd like me to broach feel free to ask :)

2022.01.16 06:49 HunterFalkner Brand new regulators wet breathing.

Hey there, I have two brand new Tusa RS-790 regs (2x R-700 first stage, 2x S-90 second stage) and both second stages breathe wet. I only did a single dive on them. Is it normal for the regs to breathe wet at first or is it something I need to get fixed (laid in storage long enough for exhaust valve/diaphragm to degrade?).
Thanks in advance.

2022.01.16 06:49 Scarecrow1779 Post-NH Melee Technomancer?

Back when I was starting outriders, I loved the look of the techno nodes that let you get toxic and vulnerability applied by your melee. I found the below build back then, and today I was digging it up to see if I actually had the gear to use it.
The issue is that this build used old fortress, which didn't require shooting, as well as the bugged emergency stance in order to be tanky without devoting hardly any nodes to that.
Just spitballing, I came up with this:
I'm trying to compensate by having 2 defensive clothing mods instead of one and by adding one additional health node. The resistance seems especially important, since I'll need to survive the auras and AoEs close to enemies. However, I think I'm majorly lacking in damage here because of losing access to Adrenalizing Antenna and fortress's damage boost.
So my real question is, has anyone come up with a survivable melee techno since NH that deals decent damage?
